Vehicle Inspection for Uber & Lyft Drivers in Idaho
FACT: the #1 reason drivers put off their application is the vehicle inspection.
Let’s face it, with our busy schedules, it’s just not convenient to go to a local mechanic to get an inspection in Idaho – it costs money, time (which for Uber drivers especially, equals money!), gas, and frustration. Not to mention that most mechanics will give you a laundry list of things that are wrong with your car, that may not even be relevant to the RideShare inspection requirements! What a headache…!
Here’s the good news: you don’t have to do any of that anymore for your Idaho inspection! What if you could complete your vehicle inspection:

Lyft vehicle requirements in Idaho
Lyft’s vehicle requirements can be different depending on individual state regulations, but there are some features that all cars must meet in order to be Lyft approved. Here are a few of those must-haves for ALL Lyft vehicles:
- Valid insurance and registration (insurance must be in your name)
- 4 doors and functional seatbelts for all passengers (including the driver)
Normally, a vehicle inspection would also be required, but it turns out that for Idaho, this is actually not a requirement at this time in order for you to be approved to drive with Lyft. I’m sure drivers in other states are jealous of yours, because this step usually holds up the driver onboarding process!
