Vehicle Inspection for Uber & Lyft Drivers in Maryland
While RideShare Mechanic is a convenient option for Uber and Lyft drivers in many states, the requirements vary from state to state and we cannot provide our video inspection services for every state.
Where to get a vehicle inspection in Maryland? You have a few options:
Option 1: You can find Uber and Lyft inspection location in your area.
Option 2: You can go to any local mechanic that performs this type of inspection. Just make sure that you call them in advance and ask if they can fill out the inspection form that is required for Uber and Lyft drivers in Maryland.
Option 3: Our personal recommendation: Use YourMechanic.
YourMechanic is like the “Uber for mechanics”- schedule an appointment and a mechanic will meet you at your car to conduct the inspection. Use this link to schedule your appointment.

Maryland happens to be one of the states that requires its own in-state inspection. This means that unfortunately you will not be able to complete your inspection via video chat with RideShare Mechanic; however, we have other recommendations you can use. But first, let’s make sure your vehicle meets the basic qualifications for the inspection in Maryland:
- Must be a 4-door car with 5 or more seat belts (including the driver’s)
- Must be a Maryland, Virginia, or DC state inspection
- For cars that are 10 years old or newer, the inspection must have been performed in the last 12 months
- For cars that are 12 or 13 years old, the inspection must have been performed in the past 6 months
- Cannot be an emissions inspection
