Vehicle Inspection for Uber & Lyft Drivers in Ohio

The driver onboarding process is the start of the journey of a RideShare driver. From Uber and Lyft’s perspective, the initial experience for a new driver is critical, because it’s their first impression of the company and sets the stage for the driver’s expectations and feelings toward them. For this reason, they invest a lot of effort in improving the driver onboarding process. If you have been around with Uber and Lyft for a while, you may have noticed some of the improvements in their onboarding process.

There is one area of the process that they have struggled to improve, however, and that is the vehicle inspection. The vast majority of drivers in Ohio complete their vehicle inspection at a local mechanic. This method works just fine, but there are some inconveniences associated with it, such as:

  • You have to go during their normal business hours (this can mean taking time off work or sacrificing time with kids or friends)
  • You have to drive to the location of inspection and consume gas (this can also mean getting stuck in traffic)
  • You have to wait for the mechanic to finish the inspection (could take over an hour if they’re busy)
  • You could be presented with a laundry list of things that are “wrong” with your car that you must spend hundreds of dollars to repair before you can drive

Whether or not all of those items are relevant to you, I think we can all agree that the vehicle inspection process in that manner is not really convenient and can provide a negative experience for drivers.

One company is here to change the entire process – that company is RideShare Mechanic, a certified mechanic that leverages technology to completely change the way that Uber and Lyft drivers complete their vehicle inspections in Ohio. With this company, you can complete your vehicle inspection via video chat without ever leaving your driveway.
